MOBILITY IN MOTION
Vehicle adaptations for everyday independence
The right vehicle adaptation can make getting out, travelling and driving much easier.
Whether you need help getting seated, lifting a wheelchair or scooter into the car, adapting the controls for driving, or choosing a vehicle around your mobility needs, our team can help you find the right solution.
VEHICLE ADAPTATIONS
Making your car work better for you
Car adaptations are pieces of equipment that make an ordinary car work better for you.
That could mean a boot hoist that lifts your scooter or wheelchair into the car, a swivel seat that makes getting seated easier, or specialist controls that allow you to continue driving.
The right solution depends on you, your vehicle and the mobility equipment you use. That is why we look at all three together before recommending an adaptation.
We assess, supply, fit and service across the UK, including South Wales and Yate.

All three need to work with each other, which is why an assessment with one of our adaptation specialists is recommended.
There is no charge and no obligation.
03
Quotes & funding options
We will then provide a detailed quote covering the recommended adaptation, installation and a three-year warranty.
Funding options can also be discussed at this stage so you understand the choices available before making a decision.
04
Fitting
Many adaptations, including boot hoists and person lifts, can be fitted within a few hours. Other adaptations, such as swivel seats, can often be completed within the same day.
Most installations can take place at your preferred location, including your home, workplace or car dealership.
We will confirm the arrangements when your installation is booked so you know exactly what to expect.
START WITH THE PROBLEM
What solutions are available?
You do not need to know the name of the adaptation you need.
Start with what you find difficult and we can help identify the options.
I cannot lift my mobility device into my car
A boot hoist or stowage system can lift and position a wheelchair, scooter or powerchair into your vehicle, reducing the need for manual handling.
The right system depends on the weight and dimensions of your mobility device, the available space and the design of your vehicle.
Getting in and out is the problem
There are several ways to make transferring into a vehicle easier.
Swivel seats can bring the seat towards you, while transfer plates and person lifts provide different levels of support depending on your mobility and whether you are completing a standing or seated transfer.
I would like to continue driving
A change in mobility does not necessarily mean giving up driving.
Hand controls, steering aids, pedal modifications and remote-control systems can adapt the way you operate the vehicle around your movement, strength and driving position.
Book your free vehicle assessment

VEHICLE COMPATIBILITY
Will it fit in my car?
The Mobility in Motion team will be able to assess and confirm vehicle compatibility.
Our solutions are designed to work in a wide range of vehicles, including petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric cars.
Depending on the type of adaptation you are considering, we may need to take measurements of your mobility device and assess your individual requirements before confirming compatibility.
This will all be discussed and confirmed during your mobility assessment.

No.

It depends on the adaptation.
Many boot hoists and person lifts can be fitted within a few hours, while adaptations such as swivel seats can often be completed within the same day.
We will confirm the expected fitting time before your installation is booked.
Will an adaptation damage my car?
Adaptations are professionally installed for the specific vehicle.
Some systems require more modification than others, so we will explain what is involved before you decide to proceed.
Can I take an adaptation with me when I change car?
Sometimes.
It depends on the adaptation and whether it is compatible with your new vehicle. We can assess both before anything is transferred or replaced.

Many adaptations can be removed or changed, although this depends on the system and how it has been installed.
The team can explain this when recommending a solution.
