Care beds provide more adjustment than a standard electric bed, with features such as variable height, profiling and specialist transfer options designed for care at home. Bush Healthcare supplies a range of Alerta, Forté and Apex beds across South Wales and Yate.

Different care needs call for different beds
Start with what the bed needs to help with. Some users primarily need height and positioning adjustment, while others need a very low sleeping position, additional capacity or assistance moving from lying to standing.
Profiling Care Beds
Beds such as the Alerta Lomond and Icon Active provide electric height, back and leg adjustment for everyday care and positioning.
Low & Floor Beds
The Lomond Low and Lomond Floor 2 lower much closer to floor level while retaining electric profiling and height adjustment.
Rotate-to-Stand Beds
The Alerta Lomond Rotate-Stand-Up and Apex Rota-Pro use powered rotation to help move the user from a lying position towards a seated or standing transfer position.
Bariatric Care Beds
The Alerta Lomond Bariatric provides a wider sleeping platform and increased safe working capacity for users who need more space and support.

HEIGHT & POSITIONING
Designed around both the user and the carer
Care beds allow the whole mattress platform to raise and lower as well as profiling the back and leg sections. A lower position can make getting in and out easier for some users, while raising the bed provides a more practical working height during assisted care.
Selected models also offer functions such as Trendelenburg positioning, auto-regression, lockable handsets and side-rail options.

Raise or lower the complete sleeping platform to suit transfers, access and care tasks.
Electric Profiling
Adjust the back, knee and leg sections from the handset without manually repositioning the bed.
Lockable Controls
Selected beds allow individual handset functions to be restricted where appropriate.
CARE BED MATTRESSES
Match the mattress to the bed
Care-bed mattresses need to flex with the profiling platform while providing the appropriate level of support for the person using them. Bush Healthcare offers specialist profiling mattresses alongside the care-bed range, including Sensaflex and higher-capacity bariatric options.
Sensaflex 1000
A contouring foam mattress that responds closely to the shape of the body.
Bariatric 3000
Individually pocketed springs provide a more familiar, responsive mattress feel.
Bariatric 4000
A foam-based option designed around pressure relief with additional temperature-management materials.
