ROAD USE
What makes a scooter road legal?
Class 3 mobility scooters can be used on the road as well as pavements and pedestrian areas. They have a maximum speed of 8 mph, although they must be limited to 4 mph when used on pavements.
Road-going Class 3 scooters must also meet specific equipment requirements and be registered with the DVLA.

Before you buy
Class 2 or Class 3?
Pavement scooters (Class 2) are limited to 4mph. Road scooters (Class 3) can do 8mph on the road and must be registered with the DVLA.
